Mason's first official haircut!

So to prepare for our big Wedding Day, Laura and I took Mason to get his first hair cut.  I was nervous at first because not only was it Mason's first hair cut, but I also believe it was the employee's first time cutting a child's hair!  Thankgoodness the end result was positive.

Waiting area at Kool Kutz for kids

I still don't understand how they came up with these prices...

It was like a little baby's man cave!

There was no way I was going to let my son get into this vehicle...therefore...

we had to settle for a Taxi since there wasn't a police car available...

He likes his fohawk!

Something to save for memories

Our sweet lil boy
Overall, Mason was very well behaved.  He wasn't startled by the scissors or the electric razor when he was getting his hair cut.  It's good to know this is another First's where he did well and hopefully we won't have any future problems.

11 months old and his first pair of real shoes!

We can't believe he is almost a year old!  Mason's one year birthday is coming up too quickly.  Also, since he is now standing up, we bought him his first pair of shoes from Stride Rite.  He is getting adjusted to having something besides sock-shoes on his feet.

We've got a stander!

For the past couple of weeks we've been noticing Mason trying to lift his little body up to stand. We usually will help him up and he'll stand for a few minutes. Last Thursday, Phan went into Mason's room in the morning and he was standing up in the crib! That was a first. I'm not sure if it's a good thing to be standing in the crib now.

Saturday night, I was working on wedding stuff and I turned my head and noticed that he picked his self up to stand underneath the glass table! I was so proud of him,  I had to snap a few pictures to show Phan at work.

Today I went out to run errands and Phan sent me a text of Mason standing over Shorty's bed. I don't think she was too happy about it.

It looks like he is on his way to walking soon. I'm thrilled and sad at the same time. My little man is growing up too quick.

She's not too thrilled with him

First 4th of July

Mason's first 4th was great. We had lunch with his Aunt Tiara and enjoyed fireworks at the highlands.

Although we only stayed for 10 minutes he seemed to enjoy the show. I love our family time together. It's the best.

10 months old!

Mason we're posting your 10 month photo up a little late! Sorry sweetheart. You're 21 pounds and 29 1/2 inches long, your head is still in the 99 percentile :) The doctor always says its more room for your brain to grow.

Guess what, we got your tux for the wedding. I can't wait to see you in it. You're gonna look great. Noah your little buddy is going to be there too, he's getting just as big as you! He's ready to play with you. Mason you have to be nice though because he's still a little baby and you're a BIG baby! Almost a toddler. I have to say the 10 months of your life went too quick for me.

I feel guilty because most of your newborn life I was studying for school, It's tough work. This coming semester will be very hard and I apologize in advance for the time I will be spending away from you and daddy. I'm a Senior so I'm almost finished! I'm sure your Dad is super excited. Just know, its all for you. I just want to make you and your Dad proud. I hope you understand when you get older.

Acts of Kindness

Mason,
Kindness is an act of compassion which comes from your heart.  You do for others and don't expect anything in return.  Throughout your life you will meet a diverse group of people who look, speak, and act differently.   They will come in all shapes and sizes, different races and ethnicities.  I want you to keep an open-mind and treat everyone equally.  Treat people how you would want people to treat your parents, children, or how you would like to be treated.  Always remember to be kind to everyone around you and to stand up for what you know is right.  Here is a video that I feel you would like once you are older and will be able to view your blog we made.
