The day before

I was looking through some of the pictures on my computer and I almost forgot about these. I was exactly 39 weeks. They were taken August 14, 2011, the day before we met Mason. It was sooo hot outside that day! Did I mention, Summer 2011 we had 100 degree temperatures! It was ridiculous. I believe it was for 40 consecutive days. Just my luck.

Phan took me to get a pedicure because I wanted pretty toes before I went into surgery. I can't believe how big my stomach was! I believe I gained 25-30 pounds. I'm 6 pounds away from my pre pregnancy weight! But I still have more weight to lose for the wedding :/

Pedicure time = Happy mommy

Mason's first roll!

Daddy giving Mason a pep talk before his first roll

This originally took place on January 21st, 2012.
I remember when he had some hair on his head.
Poor guy had a hard time getting his head to rollover with his body.

Still figuring out this kid's sleeping schedule...

The other day we were trying to figure out how to keep Mason up during the day so he would be tired and sleep through the night without any interruptions.  We figured it would be a good idea to place him in his play room, inside his bouncer, and let him watch Xuan Mai on the TV.  Our plan was this would keep him wide awake mentally and physically until we were ready to allow him sleep on our time.  However, shortly after putting our plan into effect, we noticed Mason was quiet so we walked into his playroom and this is what we found:
Our little man, fell asleep in his bouncer!
Our plan, FAILED!
If you don't succeed at first, try try again...and look what happened the second time:
This was our second attempt the following day, FAILED AGAIN!

Look Mommy, no hands!

Dear Mommy,
Today you asked Daddy to feed me and to clean our home.  Well since Daddy only has two hands, he thought it was a good idea to place me in my stroller and have me feed myself.  I must admit, Daddy did complete all his chores and fed me while accomplishing them.  He is such a smart Daddy, now I know why you love him so much.

Love,
Mason

Good job Daddy!

Mason's new favorite gadget

Well, we just discovered Mason is really interested in Laura's iPad.  At first he enjoyed looking at the screen, since we placed a custom reflective screen cover.  He loves looking at his own smile.  Also, we just discovered there are also a lot of children's games on the iPad as well.   However, I have been catching Laura play the children's games more than Mason.

Praying he doesn't drop it...

He loves this reflective screen cover

Mason's First Valentine's Day!

Dear Mason,
You have just celebrated you first Valentine's Day.  Your mom and I went and purchased you a few books and toys and mom created you a Valentine's Day gift basket.  I personally picked out the Police Officer puppet which are hard to find, I hope you liked it.  As of now you may be too young to understand the meaning of Valentine's Day, but it is a very special holiday.  Don't expect it to be a holiday where you will be able to get out of school, instead you will have a lot of fun while in school.  Expect to receive a lot of Valentine's Day cards and candy from family and friends.
Mommy's crafty work
Valentine's Day is a day which reminds everyone to take a second to think and thank all the loved ones in their lives.  To me this includes you and your mother.  Of course there are other people such as your grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, however there is no better feeling than the love I receive from you and mom.  Son, at times people may take their loved ones for granted so it is always nice to be reminded to do something nice for the people you care for such as giving flowers, chocolate, or gift baskets.  Mason, since the day you were born, everyday has been a "Valentine's Day" to your mother and I.  We love you.

26 weeks and more...

Things have been a little hectic around the Nguyen household so we are a little behind on updating our blog.  Within the past few days we have taken a lot of photos, this includes Mason's 26 weeks, Valentine's Day, and 6 month photos.  Here are Mason's 26 week photos:

Finally, Teeth!

We just discovered Mason has finally grew in two tiny teeth.  They are located at the bottom center of his gums and now he is drooling non-stop.  He goes through about 10 bibs a day!

Beaba Babycook

It won't be long until Mason can really begin eating solids.  I recently purchased a few baby puree recipe books and the Beaba Babycook Maker.  It is actually quite easy to use since the Beaba is equipped with a steamer and it also purees food.  I started making Mason Organic food.  I bought carrots, pears, and apples for Mason and I will freeze the meals until he is ready to eat them.

A visit to Grandpa

Mason made a visit to see Grandpa, it is apparently obvious to see
how happy both of them are to be in each other's company.

Mason's first hair cut

Since the day Mason was born he has had a full head of hair but lately its been growing out unevenly.  So to hopefully even out his hair growth we decided to shave it while we were in Arkansas.
